Come travel with me on fun and exciting photo adventures where I take an Ecological Approach to teaching photography while connecting with incredible environments. I like to help people visualize their goals, go deeper, and develop techniques that are adaptable to any landscape. Oh, and have lots of fun along the way!

WORKSHOPS AND TOURS

What's the difference? So glad you asked.

WORKSHOPS

A workshop includes instructional time, helping you to better learn technique, composition, and guidance for approaching the landscape. There may also be post-processing time or other learning skills about the workshop. Classroom time might occur before the workshop by a zoom session, but can also be on-site if facilities are available.

Most of our time, however, is spent in the field shooting, and using the skills we cover from the instructional time. I, or another pro, will be guiding you, and answering any questions you have. I use a technique that I like to call ecological photography, which teaches you how to adapt to any environment and create meaningful images by being dynamic and thinking through your choices.

What is Ecological Photography?

I will not "tell you" what camera settings to use, but rather suggest, and teach you why you might want to use a particular setting or lens for a scene unfolding in front of you. This creates flexibility, adaptability, and powerful learning for making better decisions in different environments and lighting conditions.

PHOTO TOURS

A Photo Tour works best for those who are more experienced with their camera but prefer to skip all the preparation, scouting, and research that goes into planning a trip. You want to show up and enjoy shooting while having me take care of the itinerary and get you to the right locations at the right time for the best light of the day. And that's a wonderful thing!

Photo Tours are all about discovery and having a good time photographing new subjects and landscapes. Think... stepping out of "your everyday" routine and finding some well-needed zen time in nature, and immersing yourself into your photography while learning, creating, and enjoying an experience with other like-minded photogs. It doesn't get much better than this!

If you have any questions or would like to know more about my programs, or what I can do for you, then contact me and consider joining my newsletter for tips, events, and the latest workshops and tours.
