OCULUS PHOTO WORKSHOPS
OUR STORY

A WONDERFUL CONCEPT TURNED REALITY!

Oculus is a joint venture between me, & my good friend Sam Carr to offer value-driven photography workshops.
We've discussed the concept of photo workshops, tours, and experiences over the past several years, it's now a reality! This has been a desire of mine for a while now, despite it feeling out of reach at times.
Sam was the fuel - the energy to get us out of Park, and into gear. We've always discussed this idea of giving participants the best possible learning, and outdoor experience we can offer at a reasonable cost.
Having photographed in the field side-by-side, for many years now, Sam & I have discovered a rhythm to how we do things. How we communicate, share, and learn from one another, but even more so, we've discovered how much fun we have doing it! And well... that's kind of important because life is shorter than we fool ourselves into believing it is, and therefore more laughter and better living shouldn't be put off till tomorrow.
My point here is that for years, we've been naturally doing all the things that craft good leaders for great photography adventures and experiences.

Come travel with us. Live, learn, and have a whole lotta fun doing so!

Sam Carr is a photographer who has been taking pictures since the early 1970’s. Like many he started with film, but his passion blossomed with a digital trip to Iceland in 2014 and transformed him from someone who takes pictures to a photographer who captures incredible landscapes.
Sam’s passion is for landscapes with diversity ranging from the lush rain forests of the Pacific Northwest, the incredible shoreline of Oregon, the rugged dry Southwest and tall mountains of the Rockies.
But his extended backyard is all of New England where there is so much beauty it is impossible to capture it all, that doesn’t mean you can’t try.
Sam’s photos have been displayed at galleries throughout the Northeast including Salmagundi Club, Gallery 53, Shoreline Arts Center, Kuhn Gallery as well as various Land Trusts and Libraries.
He has presented to camera clubs, civic organizations, provided individual instruction and teaches a drone photography course for a local school system.

Mark is a landscape photographer, teacher, and content creator portraying the phenomena
of nature and its balance with humanity. His work strives to bring out beauty & harmony in the
everyday places we live and play bringing environmental awareness to our communities through video, and photography. His YouTube Channel is focused on inspiring people to travel and get outdoors to live more meaningfully in nature.

He’s given presentations at camera clubs and conferences and teaches how-to topics on
YouTube, and offers online photography courses with Skylum, the makers of Luminar NEO.

You'll find his work in magazines, & websites, seen in Politico.com, CTPost.com, CTWine.com,
UCONN, Wallingford Magazine, and the CT Farm Bureau Association.
