See what I'm up to these days in houdsta land. I usually write about projects, interesting shoots & sorts.

For beginners looking to enhance their skills I may have a trick or two to share. There's always something to learn.

TIPS & TECNIQUES
  The Great Marshes, Cape Cod

I am available for outdoor work in CT, specializing in agriculture & nature photography. I have a collection of local (CT) stock images but not all images are displayed on the website. If there's an image you have in mind for your town magazine, article, blog, surveys, published studies and/or reports then please contact me as I may already have stock images for your intent or can most readily make images for your project.

My images are high-resolution & in both portrait and landscape orientations. Images available in only one orientation are in most cases still usable. Here a landscape image promoting Gouveia Vineyards, Wallingford, CT was also used for UCONN's Economic Impacts Agricultural Report in portrait orientation.

Town magazines & promoting awareness in our communities. Another landscape image also used for a town magazine in portrait orientation. Often these stock images will have plenty of negative space for your message, text or advertising.

Norton Bros. Fruit Farm, Cheshire, CT

We all know people who have inspired us, who have gone before us. The artistry of chasing light can be compelling to say the least. I've listed here some favorite quotes, some from photographer's we've all found larger than life.

Who's not listed here are the many friends whom I shoot with regularly and the crazy morning hours & trips we make to catch the light of sunrise. There's always something to learn from each other, always something to permanently store in our mental toolbox.

I am defeated, and know it, if I meet any human being from whom I find myself unable to learn anything. ~George Herbert Palmer

Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter. ~Ansel Adams

While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see. ~Dorothea Lange

Photography is a tough life: you can be taken, framed, exposed, shot, captured, and hung all in the same day. ~Author Unknown

Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again. ~Henri Cartier-Bresson

Poets, authors, artists and photographers.... are not ordinary people, because it takes a certain make up of human qualities to extract a billionth of a second from eternity and be aware of, see, record and produce any given scene. ~Jose Izuela, "The Soul Stirring Skies of Arizona," Arizona Highways, April 1971

A photograph is usually looked at — seldom looked into. ~Ansel Adams

It's weird that photographers spend years or even a whole lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to a couple of hours. ~James Lalropui Keivom

If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere. ~Vincent Van Gogh
